ISLAMABAD : At least seven students were killed and 22 others were injured when two blasts ripped through the Islamic University Islamabad on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.

According to initial reports one blast hit the Shariat Faculty and the other occurred near the girls cafeteria of university. A large number of students and faculty members were present at the time blasts.

Classes were also going on in the campus when the blasts occurred.

Police and rescue squads have immediately arrived on the spot. The injured are being shifting to PIMS hospital for treatment.

It is worth mentioning that many foreigners are studying in the Islamic University.

اسلام آباد: اسلام آباد میں اسلامک انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی میں دو خودکش حملوں میں سات افراد جاں بحق اور بائیس زخمی ہوگئے۔ آج نیوز کے مطابق اسلام آباد میں اسلامک انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی میں پہلا خودکش دھماکا کیفے ٹیریا جبکہ دوسرا شریعہ بلاک میں اس وقت ہوا جب کلاسز جاری تھیں ۔ ابتدائی اطلاعات کے مطابق خودکش دھماکے سے تین خواتین سمیت سات افراد جاں بحق اور بائیس زخمی ہو گئے ، زخمیوں میں سے چار کی حالت تشویش ناک ہے۔ واقعے کے بعد امدادی کارروائیاں شروع کردی گئیں اور زخمیوں کو پمز اسپتال منتقل کیاگیا، زخمیوں میں زیادہ تعداد طالبات کی ہے ۔

عینی شاہدین کے مطابق حملہ آور کو گیٹ پر روکنے کی کوشش کی گئی مگر وہ دھکا دے کر اندر چلا گیا۔ سیکورٹی اہلکاروں نے ایک مشتبہ شخص کو جائے وقوعہ سے حراست میں لے لیا ہے۔ زیر حراست شخص کو حملہ آور کاساتھی بتایا جا رہاہے اور اس کا تعلق سرگودھا سے ہے ۔زخمیوں میں ثمرا بشیر، نجمہ ادریس، محمد ادریس، نادیہ، عائشہ امبرین، عائشہ بشیر شہلا، ارم سعید، وردا الیاس، ماہین، عاصمہ بشیر، شوکت علی، محمد حفیظ اور ادریس احمد شامل ہیں۔

اسلامک انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی کا شمار ملک کی اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں میں ہوتا ہے اور یہاں غیر ملکی طلبا کی بڑی تعداد زیر تعلیم ہے۔

its one of the most tragic n sad events in the history of our country. with students becoming the victum of terrorism n no educational institute is considered safe now, how n why will parents send their children for acquiring education? n to add to the sadness of this event, all educational institues including govt n private schools n colleges n now our university too are closed for the saftey purpose of students n for the the time Unknown..!? but the loss of education they are having is limitless.

may Allah bless the souls of those students of IIUI who left us in blasts!
n may Allah forgive us all n save our homeland Pakistan from this calamity of terrorism. Amen!
