Girls outshines boys in most of the exams result of this year. Here is a report of Rescue 1122 prank call records which revealed that girls leave boys behind also in prank calls. Girls are recorded as prank callers to the Emergency services helplines like Rescue 1122. Girls are not only outstripping boys in studies and getting top positions in exam results but also on top in making trick calls to different helplines

Rescue 1122, the Punjab Emergency Service received total 10, 88,235 irrelevant calls at emergency number 1122 since its commencement Rawalpindi District. 10,88,235 obnoxious calls included 537,623 calls were from girls, 462,705 from boys, 32,437 from kids, 2,460 musical calls, 51,450 abusing calls and 1,560 were obnoxious/irrelevant calls.

Deeba Shahnaz Akhter, Emergency Officer Headquarters and Public Relation Officer Rescue 1122, Rawalpindi, said that the service has tried several solutions which include blocking of such unwanted callers, warnings over phone and briefing the caller about the significance and importance of emergency number. As a result of this campaign, a few regular pranksters have stopped dialing emergency number 1122. However, the overall numbers still continues to increase therefore, the service is obliged to take necessary legal action which includes detention for six months or Rs50,000 fine or both. We have given mobile numbers to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for blocking them and in future we would take strict action against such callers and would register FIR against them, she said.

Dr. Rizwan Naseer, the Director General Rescue 1122, said that it is the duty and moral responsibility of every citizen to respect the emergency number 1122 and every citizen should understand the significance and importance of the emergency numbers. Dr. Iffat Rohail, a PhD in Psychology, said that mostly young boys do such activities for fun, thrill and sometimes because of frustration. If girls are taking lead in prank calls then there are several reasons for it. First and most important thing is that now girls have more freedom in our society as compared to the past. She also said that young generation is addicted to the mobile phones especially girls misuse their mobiles and look for such type of activities.
