Various educational institutions will hoist the country’s flag and cut cakes to celebrate Independence Day. Punjab University is to hold a flag hoisting ceremony on its campus opposite the vice chancellor’s office. The chief guest is to be Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran. Government College University Lahore (GCU), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), different private and public sector schools, colleges and universities will also hold flag hoisting ceremonies, with students performing tableaus, singing national songs and poems for the occasion. Many institutions will also hold musical events to celebrate Independence Day. Different singers and musicians have been invited to perform at these events.
