The appendData() method adds a string at the end of a text node.

The following code fragment loads "books.xml"
into xmlDoc using
loadXMLDoc() and appends text to the first <title>
element:
xmlDoc=loadXMLDoc("books.xml");

x.appendData(" Cooking");
document.write(x.data);
