Beside the spectacular elephant theme show, the crocodile wrestling show at Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo in Nakhon Pathom province is one of most amazing and breathtaking shows in the region. While watching the battle between mankind and the reptile world…I can feel my heart beat all over my body most of the time.  The handlers have to undergo at least six months of intensive training to perfect the skills at handling the crocodiles. The most dangerous act is by putting the head and arm into the animals’ terrible mouths. It really takes a lot of courage, judgment and luck. The zoo also offers elephant riding and photo opportunity with the tigers.
The zoo is located about one hour drive from Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok and is home to more than 10 000 freshwater, saltwater and hybrid crocodiles. The Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo was established in 1985 and was accredited by CITES as maintaining, “ One of the cleanest and most impressive public displays of crocodiles in the world. ”
