Definition and Usage

The <param> tag is used to define parameters or variables for an object or applet element.

The <param> tag is supported in all major browsers.


Differences Between HTML and XHTML

In HTML the <param> tag has no end tag.

In XHTML the <param> tag must be properly closed.


Required Attributes

DTD indicates in which DTD the attribute is allowed. S=Strict, T=Transitional, and F=Frameset.
