Today in Lecture I was wondering that why Oracle is being studied as RDBMS ...
So I got the reason here...

More than 50% market share... I can't believe..
Because I was thinking that mysql is used most...


Compare the Supply of Skills and Demand of Skills of both mysql and Oracle...
Skilled professionals for Mysql are more than supply...

But I still have confussion
Mysql has more market share than Oracle ... I think

Let's see why I am saying this..

1- All web hosting control panels has automatically installed mysql with it... NOT ORACLE

2- Top Data Centers (I have checked The Planet) have option to Get a MS SQL SERVER .... NOT ORACLE

3- PHP is an emerging language for web development ... and also with it mysql is getting more and more popular.... Have You ever Heard PHP/ORACLE (It is very rare)... But mostly Mysql is used with PHP

Oracle is used in software Development ... I think with JAVA ...


But If we are being studied ORACLE .. we must learn latest one ... ORACLE 11g Not ORACLE 9i ... (I m sure we will study 9i)

I agree with you. But you know what... Our lab computers are too outdated to run the latest software. lol

I am impressed with the demand of Oracle Skills. Hmm... We need to fullfill this demand.
