LONDON: A British newspaper citing western and Pakistani officials, has claimed Saturday that Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani has demanded President Zardari to depose all corrupt ministers from cabinet, Geo News reported.

Kayani wants removal of Zardari’s loyalists from cabinet, the daily claimed.

COAS Kayani, President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani held a meeting in Islamabad on Friday night, it claimed.

During the meeting, the top political and army brass held in Islamabad, COAS Kayani handed President Zardari a list, carrying names of incompetent and corrupt ministers the former wanted dismissed from ministry, newspaper said.

The meeting helped ease civil and military tension, it said.

اگر یہ خبر درست بھی ہو تب بھی خوش ہونے کی کوئی بات نہیں ہے - فوجی حکومتوں نے آج تک پاکستان کو تباہی کے سوا کچھہ نہیں دیا - اور اگر کیانی مخلص ہیں تو پرویز مشرف کو گرفتار کرنے کی اجازت کیوں نہیں دیتے - یہ بات کسی سے چھپی ہوئی نہیں ہے کہ فوج کے ڈر کی وجہ سے مشرف پر ہاتھہ نہیں ڈالا جا رہا
