Dil na umeed to naheen Nakaam hei tu hay
Lambi hay gham ki shaam. magar shaam hei tu hay

Yeh safar kathan hei bohut magar
Na uddaas ho mere hamsafar.

Yeh sitam ki raat hei dhalnay ko
hay andheera gam ka pighalnay ki

Zara dair say is main lagay agar
Na udaas ho mere hamsafar.

Nahi rehnay wali yeh mushkalain
Yeh hain aglay moord pay manzalain

Meri baat ka tu yaqeen kar
Na Udaas ho meray hamsafar.

Kabhi dhodh layga yeh karwaan
Wo nai zameen naya asmaan

Jisay Dhoondhati hay teri nazar
Na Udaas ho mere ho mere hamsafar.
