KARACHI: Former chief of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Arif Abbasi has claimed that cricket-playing nations are somewhat involved in match-fixing, Geo News reported Monday night.
He said it is PCB, which has proved a weak body, allowing anyone to raise fingers at Pakistani team.
He feared this fresh spate of match-fixing allegations might result in transfer of World Cup event from Asia.
Talking to Geo News, he said every team in cricket world is somehow corrupt with match-fixing scandal but the weakness in PCB and cricket management of Pakistan, everyone in holding Pakistani players sole responsible for promotion of this menace.
“If India is wreaked with match-fixing scandal so the world might witness soon the shifting of World Cup 2011 from Asia”, he feared.
PCB chief Ijaz Butt, instead of playing blame game, should call for a meeting of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for solidarity against this international conspiracy, which may bring all Asian cricket-playing countries at brink of disaster, he warned.
