Default Mount Arafa Day

The day of Arafa (íæã ÚÑÝÉ), one of the most significant days in the Muslim calendar, has come upon us. This post is just a bit of information for those who would like to broaden their knowledge. It falls on the 9th day of Dhul-Hijja, one day before Eid Al-Adha (ÚíÏ ÇáÃÖÍì).
It also falls on the second day of Hajj, and pilgrims on this day make their way from Mina to Mount Arafa. It was from this site that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) gave his famous farewell sermon in his final year of life. This day is also of great significance because Muslims can fast on this day to repent for their sins.
The Prophet Mohammad was asked about fasting on this day, to which he replied: It expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year.
Finally, Eidkum mubarak to all Muslims out there. May this year’s Eid be a blessed one and may you all live to experience future celebrations Insh’Allah.
