How to convert a YouTube video to an mp3 song!
There are a lot of sites out there to convert YouTube videos to mp3. But
there are some disadvantages to using these sites; you get lower
quality songs and many sites stop working after some time.
Here is a method to extract mp3 audio from YouTube
(or other video sites) videos and get the best quality, even better
than what you hear when you watch the video online! And it is a proven
method, and will probably be working for a long long time.
Step 1: Go to http://keepvid.com
Step 2: Paste the URL of the YouTube video into the bar on keepvid.com.
Step 3: Click ‘Download’.
Step 4: You will get two download links, one for flv (low quality) and one for mp4 (high quality). Click on the link for the high quality mp4 video, and download it.
Your video will save as video.mp4, unless you rename it of course. Don’t worry, you can rename it later too.
But remember, it is a video. You must convert it to mp3 now!
Step 5: Download the latest version of the AOA Audio Extractor software from this LINK. (CNET Downloads)
Step 6: Install the software.
Step 7: Open the software and click ‘Add Files’. Add the video you just downloaded from keepvid.com.
Step 8: (Some of these settings may already be correct, but just confirm all of them) In ‘Output Options’, select ‘To MP3’. Set ‘Audio Bitrate’ to 128 kbps. Set ‘Audio SampleRate’ to 44100. Set ‘Channel’ to Stereo. In
‘Output Path’ select where you want the finished mp3 file to be saved.
All of these settings are explained below under ‘Extra Stuff’
Step 9: Click ‘Start’ and wait for the progress bar to complete.
Now your mp3 file should be saved where you selected. You can rename it to whatever you wish. You can also right click on it and edit the properties, adding Artist, Album, Year (etc) information.

What is Audio Bitrate?
In simple terms, audio bitrate determines what the quality of your song will be. 128 kbps is a good bitrate for mp3 files. You can make it higher to increase the sound quality, such as 192 kbps, 256 kbps, 320 kbps, etc. But remember, the higher your bitrate, the bigger the file size will be for the mp3 song. Select anything less than 128 kbps, and your song will not sound very good.
Can I use any other Sample Rate other than 44100 MHz?
You can, but 44100 MHz is the most widely used sample rate. There is absolutely no need to use any other bitrate.
Stereo vs Mono?
Stereo is sound in two channels and mono is sound
from on channel. Basically, if you select mono, your song will sound
like what you hear on an AM Radio Channel. Not good! |
