The future of thousands of students who appeared in the BA, BSc and BCom examination under the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) has been put at stake due to a delay in announcing the results of the exams that held in March/April this year.
Talking to The News, the students said that the IUB was at the top for conducting the exams and announcing the results on time as compared to other varsities in the country.
They said that unfortunately for the last two years, the Examination Branch was being run by makeshift controllers who had no experience to run the important branch. They said that all the universities had declared the results and announced the admission schedule for MA, MSc, MCom and BS programmes. They added that their academic year would go waste if the results were not announced immediately. They demanded Governor Sardar Latif Khosa, the chancellor of the university, order an inquiry into the matter. When contacted, IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar said that he was aware of the situation and the results would be declared in 8 to 10 days.
