Motorola wins Pakistan WiMAX contract
Oct 06, 2008 - Motorola has won a WiMAX contract from wireless broadband internet provider wi-tribe Pakistan. Datamonitor estimates the value of the contract to be approximately $30m over three years.
Motorola will provide infrastructure and wireless broadband services to wi-tribe's customers. It will also supply WAP 400 WiMAX access point that includes diversity multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna capabilities for indoor penetration.
The deployment of the WiMAX network will start from this month in the 3.5GHz spectrum while the commercial launch is expected during 2009.
