Definition and Usage

The SVG feBlend element is used to composite two objects together using different blending modes.

The mode attribute defines the image blending mode. The mode attribute can take one of the following values:

  • normal (default)
  • multiply
  • screen
  • darken
  • lighten

The in2 attribute defines the second input image to the blending operation. This attribute can take on the same values as the in attribute.


Example 1

The following example shows examples of the five blend modes.

Copy the following code into Notepad and save the file as "feblend_1.svg". Place the file in your Web directory:
