When JavaScript was first introduced in browsers, some sort of interface was required to allow elements on the page to be accessed via scripting
DOM, is the interface that allows you to programmatically access and manipulate the contents of a web page (or document).
It defines the logical structure of documents and the way a document is accessed and manipulated.
