But ads don't matter too much... your connection speed matters for this...

The real thing to compare the speed is "Email Delivery" ... and google is more superior in this also ...

Just delivers mail in 1 second (or may be before that) ...

AND Yahoo & Hotmail are still 2 largest email service provider across the globe ... So it depends on you to use Largest one or Fastest One ... (I think, Yahoo & hotmail also have improved speeds for email delivery)

I do preffer fastest one ... :)
