Institutes to be closed for dengue fever preventions

Government of the Punjab has announced to close all the educational institutions in Lahore from tomorrow. This decision is taken by the Govt for the safety measures to prevent dengue disease which is spreading very rapidly in Punjab and has killed so many people in Lahore.
Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Lahore will remain open as usual. The spokesman for the LCWU told that there will be no vacations and the administrative and academic offices of the institution will remain functional in routine. The admissions to BS (Hons), MS/M.Phil, Ph.D, B.Com, BFA and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BE) would be processed according to the announced schedule. Prospectus along with admission forms can be obtained from specific branches of Bank of Punjab and will be submitted in the campus till 16th September; he added. Meanwhile the administration of LCWU has extended the dates to receive forms for M.A (TESOL) till 16th September. The information of LCWU will receive admissions forms for TESOL.

Institutions will be closed from tomorrow and will be sprayed with dengue insecticides. This procedure will be completed in 10 days.

Overall estimated dengue patients are four thousand and forty one. Govt of Punjab has requested for the sirilankan medical team to come for the cure of dengue fever. Patients are scared of this disease as it is making many of its preys. Government medical hospitals do not have enough platelets machines and patients have to go to private hospitals where they are treating at very costly levels.

Students and parents should take precautionary measurements to avoid the risk of dengue fever by do not let water stands in the lawn, by using anti mosquito repellants and wearing full clothes.Attachment 25706
