Another student sets world record

Syed Zohaib Asad, 19, a student of Beaconhouse School System, Wah Cantonment, has made world history by clinching 28 As in the University of Cambridge O-level examination.
Earlier, he was declared ‘Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award Winner’ for gaining higher marks in June 2010 Cambridge ‘O’ level exams in ‘Human and Social Biology’.
Talking to this reporter, Asad dedicated his success to the ample guidance by his teachers and parents for providing him an atmosphere fertile for the studies.
Responding to a question, he said home environment played greater role in the success of any student. “I am fortunate to have such parents who provided me a relaxed atmosphere to concentrate in my studies.”
He expressed dissatisfaction over the discriminatory education system in the country and said there must be unified curricula and equal access to educational opportunities for every child. Identifying talent or potential of the students at their teenage
can help adopt career-oriented studies in a long run, he added.
He said as his father was a doctor, he first took medicine as his domain of subjects but turned to economics and business soon after discovering his interest and potential.
Asad said: “I changed my subjects in the middle of O level study and prepared for the exams in six months.”
I spared seven to eight hours a day for the preparation of my exams with full concentration. It is important to give quality time to the studies with entire focus on every subject.”
He said he liked world geography and travel tourism in Pakistan and gathered content all by himself, given the reason that
these subjects were unique and not covered well.
His father Dr Syed Asad Ali said he was grateful to his son’s teachers who taught him devotedly. “It’s a pleasure for me that he has done a great job, not just for our family and Pakistan but the whole Muslim community.
