1578: English physician William Harvey discovered blood circulation. 1665: The Great Plague hit London.
1875: The Times of London was the first newspaper to print a daily weather chart.
1778: Oliver Pollock, a New Orleans businessman, created the dollar "$" sign.
1924: Adolf Hitler was sentenced to 5 years in jail for high treason after his failed 1923 putsch. He was released December 20 of the same year.
1933: The Nazi government ordered a boycott of businesses owned by Jews and seized their bank accounts.
1952: The "Big Bang" theory was first published
1793: Volcano Unsen on Japan erupts killing about 53,000
1889: 1st dish washing machine marketed (Chicago)
1891: London,Paris telephone connection opens
1934: Bonnie & Clyde kill 2 police officers
1984: 8 men record longest distance rowed in 24 hours at 13 miles
