Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world™s largest premier student technology competition. It encourages students around the globe to imagine a better world in which people are empowered by technology.

Last year, more than 2,500+ students from Pakistan participated in this competition and team Magno Touch from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore won the Pakistan finals and represented Pakistan in the global finals held in Warsaw, Poland. The Imagine Cup 2011 â€“ Global Finals will be held in United States of America.

This year the competition is taking place in USA and in the Software Design Category, the winning team from Pakistan will be fully sponsored by Microsoft to go to the United States of America and compete in the global finals.

Imagine Cup 2011 Theme:
The United Nations has identified some of the hardest challenges in the world today in its Millennium Development Goals ” ranging from reducing poverty and halting the spread of HIV/AIDS to providing universal primary education. The Imagine Cup is calling on young programmers, designers and technologists to rise up to this challenge and use these Development Goals as their inspiration to think and develop solutions to solve the world™s toughest problems.

IMAGINE CUP 2011 :: SOFTWARE DESIGN PAKISTAN - SCHEDULE:
The Entry Period consists of four (4) separate Rounds as described below. Each round has unique entry requirements. All required entry deliverables must be received within the designated Round in order for the entry to be eligible for judging.

Round 1 “one page document describing the idea	July 9, 2010	March 1, 2011
Round 2 “ Detailed project document along with screen shots	March 1, 2011	March 30, 2011
Round 3 “ Project presentation for top 5 teams	April 27, 2011	April 27, 2011
Round 4 - Worldwide Finals	July 2011	July 2011

ELIGIBLITY:
Student is eligible to enter if the student meets the Eligibility Requirements set forth in the •Eligibility Criteria section of the Imagine Cup Official Rules.
Additionally, in order to be eligible to compete in the Software Design competition”including both Pakistan and the Worldwide Finals ” all the team members must be registered as competitors on imaginecup.com and complete the category commit information in the Software Design competition at imaginecup.com.
