In Punjab Rs 8 billion Allocated For Education: Qureshi

Provincial Minister for Labour Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi said that Rs 8 billion had been allocated for the education endowment fund and 50,000 scholarships would be disbursed by the end of this year.Talking to delegations, he said that all government schools would be given the status of English medium this year while the Punjab government had also lunched a vigorous campaign for primary enrolment.
He said that foreign scholarships for master’s level studies in top universities of the world were also being provided to brilliant students. He said by setting up computer labs in thousands of schools, establishment of centers of excellence, provision of missing facilities in 10,000 schools and a number of steps had been taken for the promotion of modern education.
